I launched the Bright Green Futures podcast earlier this year to lift up stories about a more sustainable and just world and talk about the struggle to get there.
You see, we have plenty of apocalyptic tales about the climate crisis, and with every record-breaking heat wave, wildfire, drought, and hurricane, it's increasingly clear the climate crisis is here now. We can't wait for some distant apocalypse to wipe the slate clean—we need solutions today.
That's where hopeful climate fiction shines. Science can tell us facts and figures, technology can give us tools, but these stories show the future we can have when we work together to make it happen. Or simply survive and adapt to the changes already baked in. We need to use all our imaginative powers to dream a better world... so we can make it happen.
Just one problem: there aren't very many hopeful climate fiction stories out there.
That's why I started the podcast: to collect up the stories, talk to the authors who are creating them, and encourage others to take up the pen or simply envision a better world so we can start working toward it.

Bright Green Futures 2024 Anthology
Since I had all these wonderful authors on the pod, I figured what better way to get more stories written than to ask the experts to write more? Right now, we're finishing up edits and getting the cover ready, which I hope to reveal in early December. And we're planning some fun launch activities to get the word out there.
